Dr. Katie Chung PT, DPT, PCS is an Arizona local who graduated from Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She received her Bachelor’s of Health Science degree in Kinesiology at Arizona State University. Katie is also a certified board specialist in pediatric physical therapy. She has over 5 years of experience with infants and children of all ages and types of abilities, however Katie specializes with medically complex and fragile pediatric population and infants. Having worked in early intervention, she values empowering the families to always believe beyond what limitations are ‘set’. She has extensive experience working with infants through young adulthood years with complex disabilities in a variety of settings and understands the importance of coming together as a team to best meet the needs of a unique child and help them to continue to thrive and grow. 

She also has experience directly collaborating with speech therapists specialized in medical feeding and IBCLCs and occupational therapists that work closely with sensory regulation. Special skills include total motion release (TMR Tots with Susan Blum), myofascial release (John F Barnes Approach), Usui reiki (Level III), and functional mobility through the Institute of Physical Art. These are all gentle and non-invasive yet transformative techniques that work well together with the unique individual parents, family, and child. Achieving authentic healing within the body includes the mind, body, and spirit. Katie’s philosophy believes in the total body impacting all parts of development, including feeding, digestion, sleep, motor patterns, communication skills, sensory regulation, and more. 

As a first generation Chinese-American, Katie truly values the integration of culture and healthcare. She approaches her physical therapy treatment through a big picture, evidence-based, culture sensitive, and family-centered perspective.
